1964 Fender Vibroverb guitar amplifier

This vintage 1964 Fender Vibroverb Amp guitar amplifier came through the shope a few years ago. I'm always a Fender amp buyer but I'm especially looking for Fender amps from the 1950s and 1960s. You can contact me here to sell a Fender amp

I've been lucky to have a few original vintage 1964 Fender Vibroverb amps come through the shop over the years. Here are a few others I've had:

1964 Fender Vibroverb amp A01425

1964 Fender Vibroverb amp A01540

This 1964 Fender Vibroverb guitar amplifier comes from production #4 and features late 1963 and early 1964 date codes but the tube chart code indicates February of 1964. This amp is completely original except for a proper filter capacitor replacement, three prong power cord install and biased set of Fender branded power tubes.

The original owner also added casters to ease transportation. The amp has been fully cleaned and adjusted for optimum performance and collectibility. The amp is strong and has that classic warm, thick hot blues tone. This amp has been waiting to be brought back out of the closet since the original owner passed some two decades ago. His daughter did not play guitar so we were the first to hear it make music again. She said her dad worked in upholstery and made a cover for the amp which is why it's still nice and clean.

Just in from the daughter of the original owner (edit: sold!) - a very rare 1964 Fender Vibroverb-Amp in excellent original condition. Premier Guitar Magazine describes the 1964 Fender Vibroverb as the "bedrock of (Stevie Ray Vaughan's) signature 'Texas Flood' firepower." Whether that's true or not, demand has continued to exceed the limited supply of blackface Vibroverbs since Fender only produced them in this configuration for about one year.

I ended up with one of these when I was 19.
Did not know the value of amps like it.
I liked to take things apart and let me tell you, at 35yo now. I still remember every wire in that thing.

The first thing I broke was the springs in the reverb box. Then some tubes blew out and I trashed it.

It’s really odd that I have not even searched for another EVER. And get here is google giving me this article in my news feed.

Perhaps one day I’ll find another amp just like it and take better care of it.
