This vintage 1965 Epiphone FT-79 Texan acoustic guitar came through the shop a few years ago. I'm always a vintage Epiphone guitar buyer but I especially love the Epiphone Texan guitars. Please contact me here to sell a vintage Epiphone guitar

From the 1961 Epiphone catalog: "Texan: A jumbo flat-top guitar with booming voice, fine response, a fast-action neck, and many more fine features, exceptional at its popular price. Made with selected Spruce top for finest resonance, Mahogany back and rims, Mahogany neck with adjustable truss rod, Rosewood fingerboard with distinctive pearl inlays. Peghead with pearl-inlaid design and name. Attractive ivoroid purfling ring and large shell celluloid pickguard, Rosewood bridge, Nickel-plated enclosed machine heads. An outstanding instrument!"

This early 1965 Epiphone FT-79N Texan was made to the exact specs as Paul's 1964 Texan. It features the earlier style pickguard and wider, 1 5/8" nut. All parts are original to the guitar except the strings and the case. Repairs include: multiple braces reglued, bridge reglue, and fret dress. One interesting feature on this guitar is the heel area rim stinger! We see this from time to time on mid-1960s Gibson guitars. It's possible that the stinger is to cover up a manufacturing imperfection but we can find nothing of the sort. This one has a great deep, rumbly jumbo voice and a lightly braced top. It's easy to see why Paul favored his for fingerpicking and light strumming! Comes with a properly fitting new hard shell case (edit: sold!).
