Sometime in the 1970s, he noticed that the clear coat was wearing away and decided to have a polyurethane overspray applied in order to stabilize it. While I wouldn't recommend it today, it did preserve the finish, but more importantly, made an otherwise unobtanium custom color Stratocaster priced a lot closer to a Sunburst example.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMeasurements:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e 8.3\u003c\/span\u003elbs (3.75 kg) total weight. The neck measures 1.64\" (1 5\/8\") wide at the nut, 0.88\" deep at the first fret, and 0.88\" deep at the 12th fret (fat with no taper).
