Gibson Les Paul Junior 1955

Gibson Les Paul Junior 1955

This vibey 1955 Gibson Les Paul Junior has recently come in from the family of its original owner from outside of Seattle, Washington! We've just completed a neck reset and bushing replacement to make this a spectacular playing example which is ready for the stage, studio, or collection.

Make and Model: Gibson Les Paul Junior

Year: Late 1954 or early 1955. No visible serial number.

Measurements: 7.7 lbs / 3.55 kg overall weight. The neck profile measures 0.91" deep at the first fret and 0.98" deep at the 12th fret.

Repairs: Very nicely executed neck reset to correct for low neck pitch, replaced short bridge post bushings with 1" (post-1956 style) to correct for typical post lean, replaced tuner buttons.

Originality: All parts are original to this guitar except: period correct amber knobs (not reproduction), repro tuner buttons, period correct bridge and posts (original part not reproduction), period correct alligator case but not original to this guitar.

Playability: Excellent! The neck angle is perfectly pitched (unlike many late '54s), the neck is straight, the truss rod operates as intended, the electronics work as intended, and the original skinny frets still have factory height. It's a blast to play.

Notes: This early Les Paul Junior is one of my favorite examples of the model I've played. It has all the cool finish checking and wear that is unmistakably real. You've no need to worry about putting a scratch or a ding on it. Play it to your heart's content, then play it some more. It deserves it and so do you.
