Vintage 1963 Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar Forbes sticker

This vintage 1963 Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar in Cherry Sunburst came through the shop a few years ago. It was originally purchased from the E. E. Forbes & Sons Piano Co in Birmingham, Alabama. I'm always a vintage Gibson guitar buyer but I especially love the J-45 model. Please contact me here to sell a vintage Gibson guitar. 

This 1963 Gibson J-45 in its original case came to me via the son of the original owner with the salesman's card from Birmingham's Forbes Music Company stapled to the inside of the case. Forbes was the largest Gibson dealer in Alabama in the early 1960s. 1963 was the year that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested in Birmingham for "parading without a permit" which lead to his famous "Letter from a Birmingham Jail." This guitar is a relic of a time period that witnessed the hard work of so many that made this country what it is today. This original owner Gibson J-45 needed nothing but a simple clean and setup to be back in to top playing condition. It has never had any modifications or repairs. It is crack free and set up just right. The tone is dry and loud with a light enough top to fingerpick as well as strum.
