Gibson SG Standard 1969

$1.00

This Gibson SG Standard 1969 in original Cherry Red finish is a stunning example of the ever popular large guard late 60s SG! It's in spectacular playing condition and has all the tone and vibe I look for in a Kalamazoo made vintage Gibson.

Make and Model: Gibson SG Standard

Year: 1969. Serial number 808xxx with no made in USA stamp. Three piece neck with no volute. Potentiometer codes: 134 6852 (134 = CTS (manufacturer), 68 = 1968, 52 = 52nd week of the year. Check out How to date a Gibson SG.

Measurements: 7 lbs 10 oz overall weight. The neck profile measures 0.82" deep at the first fret and 1.01" deep at the 12th.

Originality: All parts appear to be original to the guitar except for replaced Grover tuners and mid 60s reflector knobs. The knobs appear to be real mid 1960s reflector knobs but I would expect them to be the witch hat style after 1967. The pickup covers have been off before but the originals have been reinstalled.

Condition: Very good with no breaks or repairs! The Cherry Red finish has faded lightly on the front of the body and the back of the neck.

Playability: Excellent! The neck is straight, the truss rod works as intended, and the frets show little wear. There's not enough wear to affect playability. The pots and jack have been cleaned and work as intended.

Notes: Some of my favorite guitars are vintage original but offered at custom shop price. This 1969 Gibson SG Standard fits into that category but plays and sounds like a far more expensive guitar. It's a clean example that plays like a dream.
