Gibson Hummingbird Maple 1963

$1.00

While 1963 may be the highest production year for the Hummingbird model in the early 1960s, only a small subset of them were made with Maple back and sides. This is a fantastic playing and sounding example of this rare variation of the model.

Make and Model: Gibson Hummingbird

Year: 1963. The serial number is 97437.

Measurements: 4.9 lbs / 2.2 kg overall weight. The nut width measures exactly 1.69" / 1 11/16". The neck profile measures 0.81" at the first fret.

Originality: All parts on this guitar are original, minus the original plastic bridge (included in the case) and a 2.5" section of treble side neck binding which was spliced in place of the missing piece. We had an exact reproduction Rosewood bridge made which is indistinguishable from the original Rosewood bridges.

Condition: Very good. The top finish is still bright Cherry Red Sunburst but shows some nice checking and a couple scratches. There is a short top crack between the treble side of the fretboard extension and the pickguard which is glued and stable.

Playability: Excellent. The neck is straight, and there's still plenty of life left in the frets
Included: A new, non-original, hardshell case

Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
